Wasted Wednesdayz Returns

Tuesday, June 30, Kingston, Jamaica (A.I.M Inc.): After introducing the event Wasted Wednesdayz in the summer of 2008, the promoters; R.U.M Events (Real Unique Mature Events) have been pressured by their many fans and patrons to host the second staging of the event in 2009.

July 1st will see the start of the mid-week party series that took the New Kingston Strip by storm last year and is poised to bring the normally quiet/slow Wednesday evening alive in Kingston to kick off the midweek party scene for summer 2009.

This year the series will run until September 2nd and the promoters promise that it will bring even more vibrancy and energy than it delivered for last year’s staging. The venue has been changed to Escape 24/7 and the owners have chosen to use Wasted Wednesdayz as the flagship event to unleash their newly refurbished venue, that now boasts in addition to other elements more room, which suits the ever growing patronage of Wasted Wednesdayz.

The Resident Dj’s will be the dynamic team from Static Outkast, who have supplied the musical ambience for some of the summer’s more highly supported events thus far; Appleton May Daze, Heineken Igloo and Smirnoff Twisted Spirtiz to name a few. They will be joined each week by special guest selectors and sound systems making Wasted Wednesdayz the best place to get your musical fix on Wednesday Nights.

R.U.M Events will be offering FREE Tequila shots every hour for the patrons and even though they encourage the patrons to come get ‘Wasted’, they are “being reminded to do so responsibly” commented Twane Smith of the promotional group that also boasts promotional credit for events like Tantrik Thursdayz and Baywatch amongst others.

General Admission for the series is $300, ladies are encouraged to come out early and enjoy free entry before 10 pm, there after 2 ladies enter for the price of 1.

Razz & Biggy - Real Thing Mix

Sunday, June 1, Kingston, Jamaica (A.I.M Inc.): After being silent on the mixtape scene for quite a while Razz & Biggy has returned with their new mix CD, which some entertainment industry insiders have already said, is one of the best in the streets now.

“Razz & Biggy Mix 109” has been injected with some of the most infectious and hard hitting riddims expected to take over the dancehall and the music scene at large for Summer ‘09.

The dynamic production trio, DASECA, tears open the CD with a musical introduction to “Razz & Biggy Mix 109” ahead of sounds from dancehall heavy hitters such as Serani, Chi Ching Ching, Alaine and Mavado, just to name a few. The DASECA produced “Sixteen Riddim,” pumps this mix with a dose of Bounty Killa who lets loose on a track titled ‘Mek a Duppy,’ which even his hardest critics have dubbed as one of his best recordings in recent times. Other riddims featured in this mix are the “Beach Front,” “Movie Star,” “Good Life,” “Clearance,” “ATM” and “Street Team”

Another riddim expected to be a scorcher for the summer and featured on “Razz & Biggy Mix 109” is the “Unpredictable Riddim,” produced by hit maker TJ White of TJ Records. The riddim showcases the lyrical Prowess of Baby Cham, and the “Entertainer and the Fat Yute” (Razz & Biggy) showcase it on the first of what will be a few mixes for 2009.

Currently part of the Bembe Squad, Razz & Biggy over the years have consistently worked hard on honing their craft and have subsequently earned the respect of not only their many fans and peers but also the entertainers themselves who have chosen the duo to represent their music ‘dubstyle. ’ The mix is also laced with dubs from the industry’s best including Serani with ‘From Di Day Mi Born’, Mavado – ‘Mocking Bird’ and Charley Blacks – ‘Dream.’

Fans can officially welcome Razz & Biggy back to the mixtape scene with “Razz & Biggy Mix 109.” It’s a sure teaser for the anticipation and your summer ’09 will not be complete without it. Look put for them, as the duo has already been booked for some of the summer’s most anticipated events both locally and internationally.
